Senior Pastor | Pearl R. Huggins

Pastor Pearl R. Huggins was born in the city of Meridian, MS where she graduated from Middleton High School. She has attended colleges in Cleveland, OH; Los Angeles, CA; and Meridian, MS. Pastor Pearl graduated from Meridian Community College with an AA degree in 2001. She then graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2005. She also hold a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate Degree from the Messiah’s Gospel Ministries Seminary School.

Pastor Pearl was saved while attending Greater Christian Pentecost Church in Cleveland, OH. She was baptized in the glorious name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost in January 1973 under the pastorate of the late Elder Herman Cummings. She served in Cleveland as a Youth Leader and an Advisory Board member for the Northern District Council for the state of Ohio.

In June of 1976, she moved to Inglewood, CA and became a member of First Apostolic Church of Inglewood where the Pastor was the late Bishop Wayne S. Davis. Her prolific ministry started when she received the call under Bishop Davis's tutelage. At First Apostolic of Inglewood, she was a youth pastor, youth retreat coordinator, Chief Elder over the ministers, and the women’s coordinator. During her mission in California, she trained, and later married, at the time, Minister Dennis E. Huggins Jr. He has since then been ordained to Bishop. Bishop Dennis and Pastor Pearl birthed six children together, Dennis III (deceased), Julia, JaWanda, JaFinis(J.J.), Daniel, and Judah. They also have their adopted daughter Jackie, two granddaughters Ja”Mia and Taliyah, and one grandson, Zion.

Currently, Pastor Pearl has her own support group ministry called the Gates of Pearl Ministries, Inc. for women in ministry and pastor’s wives. Also, on December 27, 2007, she was installed as Pastor of the First Apostolic Church of Meridian. She has her own catering business which is called The Caterers at Meridian Regional Airport. Pastor Pearl has recently retired from Meridian Public School District where she served for several years in Elementary and Secondary Education.

Above all, she is saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. She is determined to trust God no matter what life brings. Pastor Pearl is a woman of faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
